Travel

Below you find information on travelling to ceremonies held in Takayama or Nagoya, Japan each year. The North American Headquarters organizes the various group tours in Japan.

Members are responsible for purchasing their airline tickets and they individually fly to a given location. This location may change based on the tour but it usually is Tokyo or Nagoya airport where members then are picked up and taken to a nearby hotel. Here they unite with the other tour participants and spend their first night. The next morning they take a chartered bus to the World Shrine in Takayama. Depending on which tour they choose -tours differ in length, cost, and offered programs- they visit various other Sukyo Mahikari and/or other Japanese holy sites. The main event of the tour usually is a Grand Ceremony or some other event such as various conferences organized by the organization. The Grand Ceremonies are
  • Spring Grand Ceremony held at the main World Shrine in Takayama during the first week in February.
  • Autumn Grand Ceremony held at the main World Shrine in Takayama during the first week in November.
  • Grand Purification Ceremony held at the World Shrine in Takayama during the first week in December.
