Excerpt from the Translation of The Teaching by Oshienushisama, February 2014 titled Young people, strive to be high-minded and noble published in the Sukyo Mahikari International Journal, issue March 2014, pg. 14.

"I am happy to say that members of the Sukyo Mahikari Youth Group, not only in Japan but all around the world, are making efforts to help solve the environmental problems that humanity faces. With the goal of halting desertification, Sukyo Mahikari youth group members in Africa are participating in the Great Green Wall of the Sahara and the Sahel Initiative. The Green Wall is to span 11 countries on the African continent, from Senegal, Africa’s westernmost country on the Atlantic Coast, to Djibouti in the east.

Work is now under way to create a greenbelt 7,000 kilometers
(4,345 miles) long by
planting trees to protect the savanna, which
is threatened by desertification.

In Brazil, Sukyo Mahikari Youth Group Members are helping to promote yoko farming and are lending a hand to help preserve the Amazon rainforest. In Luxembourg, in addition to helping out with renovation work on the Grand-Chateau of Ansembourg Castle (headquarters of Sukyo Mahikari in Europe) and its upkeep,

members are helping to spread yoko farming.”

Note: Yoko farming is a method that revives nature and people through organic farming, God’s Light, and positive thoughts and words.
